Mō te tūranga: About the role
We are looking to appoint a Zoo Educator – Kaupapa Māori. This is a permanent full-time position to in our dedicated, creative, and effective learning team. This is a Monday to Friday role.  

Zoo Educator – Kaupapa Māori will develop and deliver high-quality creative and exciting message-driven learning experiences to Zoo visitors of all ages reflecting the intersection between wildlife conservation and Kaupapa Māori, maximising connections between people, nature and animals.

Additionally, the role supports the wider Communications, Experience and Conservation Team to ensure a strong and integrated visitor, learning and Kaupapa Māori focus on learning activities.

If you are keen to share your commitment to animals, conservation and sustainability with students of all ages and have a good working knowledge of the New Zealand curriculum, this is the job for you.

He kōrero mōu: About you
*Practical experience delivering learning in zoos, museums or similar facilities; or in schools.
* Understanding of kaupapa Māori approaches to learning.
*Demonstrated knowledge of te reo Māori and tikanga Māori. 
*Known for your ability to establish and develop effective, authentic and positive ongoing relationships. 
*Are a skilled communicator, both oral and written.
*Able to work collaboratively with others, in a team, and also with limited supervision.
*A passion for inspiring conservation action in children.
*Creative and enthusiastic.
*You enjoy working outdoors and have a good level of physical fitness (we are on a hill).
